Small things add up too

When I started this project I thought to myself I might be able to do this on a budget of around and about 100 Euros.

Soon to realize all the small things I didn’t think of immediately.
Like a small fishnet for catching the residents, and to remove plant debris floating about.

I bought this 3” nylon version at the garden centre for just 1,09 Euros

Pros:
Cheap and effective.

Cons: Not suitable for fish larger than 2"

Bought at: Intratuin
Brand: Decoratie
Price €: 1,09

Aquarium Thermometer
I have the exact same one in the large community tank I/we keep at my girlfriend’s apartment. Since I bought that one she insisted on buying this one for me. Yay!

It’s a simple device you just stick it on the window with the suction cup.

Pros:
It floats if it ever comes of. I had a group of Cl
own Botias their hobby was to pull it from the window.
Cons: It’s not pretty so yet another Item I will have to try and hide behind plants i.e..

Manufacturers description:

The ADORI floating thermometer can be used in marine aquaria.
For best result; Install the ADORI thermometer fully under water, opposite of the heater unit.

Bought at: Pet’s place
Brand: Adori
Price €: 2,25

Two time switches
I actually only need one, and since everyday is the same I opted for the analogue version. It came in a blister of two plus a free torchlight.
This set was actually the cheapest.
Cheaper than one digital. So if one breaks I have a spare one! And if that breakes too I have still have my torch!
hmm, that’s a bit too convenient isn’t it? Hope that doesn’t say anything about the quality of this product. ☺

Manual and specs can be found here

Pros: Easy to use. Two for the price of one. And a free torch
Cons: Not waterproof. So keep in safe distance from the tank.
(Edit: Turns out to be very noisy, and I will probably replace them)

Bought at: Blokker
Brand: Selecttime
Price €: 4,99
